Veteran Leadership for A New Direction

Dr. Roberto "Rob" Cancio was born and raised in our community, attended and graduated from our schools, and served in the U.S. Navy. 

Cancio has: 

☑ Championed school safety, increasing the annual safety training budget from $200 to $50,000.

☑ Promoted innovation, creating a grant game plan and welcoming an $8.7M grant focusing on students' access to college; and brokered a $2.9M grant with Norwalk and La Mirada to increase the Districts' virtual learning environment.

☑ Balanced budgets, with the District projecting the deficit to decrease by 82% by 2023.

☑ Fought for quality education by supporting college and career access pathways and the expansion of science and technology courses. 

With your support, Cancio will: 

▲ Increase school safety, make school buildings more secure, increase safety prevention and response training, and expand student resiliency and wellness programs.

▲ Support fiscal accountability that maximizes student outcomes and increase grant funding.

▲ Champion student achievement by expanding reading, dual language immersion, career pathways, and computer science programs, so our students can thrive and prepare for the jobs of tomorrow.
